Need to talk? I’m listening.

Struggling with a problem? Perhaps you find it difficult to talk about your emotions with friends and family. Maybe you’re not even sure how to describe how or why you feel the way you do. I will help and support you explore your feelings, thoughts and personal experiences to help you move forward, enabling you to manage your life more effectively, changing and developing in your own way.

As a Person-Centred counsellor I’m trained to listen and help you find the source of your problems even if the source is your thoughts your family, or you. I offer a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space to think and talk about anything which may feel uncomfortable, confusing or painful to you. I offer both short and long-term counselling.

We are all different, so we feel and react to life events in different ways.

I work with adults of all ages with a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, bereavement and loss. Each client is an individual and your issues won’t be the same as someone else’s. I believe only you know what is troubling you and what choices are best for you.

Do you feel anxious? Powerless? Angry? Sad? Confused?

Are you struggling in your relationship? Would you like to talk to someone who can support you and listen to you with care and respect? I am warm, perceptive and a good listener.

Do you feel that your life is out of sync?

Feelings of anxiety and depression can grow and grow until it feels like there isn’t room for anything else in your life. Do you feel that you cannot fulfil your role as a professional, partner, parent? Change comes from inside, it can be a difficult, sometimes painful, process. However, it is entirely in your hands, in your power and your strengths and I can guide you through.

Whether you have a specific problem you’re struggling with, or simply feel that there’s something that doesn’t feel right in your life, it may be that you feel overwhelmed and in turmoil. I’m here to offer you a calm, supportive haven where we can focus on you and find a way for you to feel in control of your life, and be at peace with yourself.

From time to time we can all experience personal difficulties, with relationship and work-related problems that leave us finding it hard to cope, understand things and make decisions. I aim to help you to gain perspective about the issues troubling you; explore the causes of your problems and consider what might be stopping you from reaching your full potential.

In these uncertain times, now more than ever, we value our mental health.

Friends, family, extended family and work colleagues can all play a role in our general support network to build our resilience and look after how we feel in our day to day lives. In these uncertain times we call on our reserves of strength to see us through some very challenging events.

There are times though when all we really want is a safe, confidential place to open up about our thoughts and fears and feel we won’t be judged or made to feel uncomfortable about these feelings, to be shown care and respect. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a support network around them. At times like these when we feel as though we need to talk, I offer a warm, welcoming space that is respectful and values you.

The Global Pandemic, Therapy, and Crafting:

In normal times I am a counsellor (counsellor as in therapist, looking after those suffering anxiety or bereavement to positively affect their mental health, not a councillor who deals with potholes), but the lockdown has meant restrictions here.

I also run workshops that combine craft and therapy in a safe space. These workshops are for small groups of people who want to do a craft and be creative in therapeutic surroundings knowing their feelings and thoughts expressed are respected by the group, building relationships on trust.
Restrictions have temporarily put a halt to these, so to showcase the type of craft and creativity I have set up an Etsy.

As part of not only being kind to each other but also to our world I have tried to recycle, reuse and repurpose the materials so the items can go on to be re-loved, doing my small piece for the planet.
